The Cause of Famine
This essay might be considered more philosophical rather than factual, since I am am not educated. I am just a thinker, and a thought occurred to me.

What if yours and every family on the planet was given 1 hectare of land (about 2.5 acres). And on this hectare of land you planted trees that can grow food in your region, like fruit trees. And you planted bushes that grow berries. And you planted root vegetables, like potatoes and carrots, among others. And you planted other vegetables like corn, squash, lettuce and many others. And you planted tomatoes which are beautiful and delicious. And you planted peppers, herbs and spices to add to food, evergreen trees to make the air clean, deciduous trees to provide shade and in some cases, nuts. And you planted many varieties of flowers to scent the air. And you gave safe harbor to bees to make honey and pollinate everything. Have you ever seen the pollen drifting on the wind, beautiful and yellow everywhere? And you have a meadow and a pond. The animals come to your meadow to eat the grasses. You have a goat or cow and you get milk from them. And chickens and ducks who give you some eggs.

Is it necessary to mention that there are no pesticides, herbicides or any chemicals of any kind that damage your land? All your food is organic, your air is clean, your water is clean.

"ALLERGIES!!!"

Not if you are eating food from nature. Right now people are eating food that comes from farms which are adding chemicals to their crops, either to get them to grow, or to stop bugs from eating them. The chemicals are so toxic that they kill the bugs and other animals along the food chain. The farmer has to treat the chemicals as hazardous material by law. He has to have a special endorsement on his license to legally transport the chemicals he puts on our food.

They tell us that they can fight hunger by producing more food. But that is not true. It is very expensive to produce food this way, and the food is of very poor quality compared to what nature can create for us without chemicals. They look at yields. They don't give their food to the hungry. The hungry are hungry, because they can't buy it. Now we have poor quality food poisoned with chemicals, people get sick with allergies, cancers and neurological problems which contribute to psychological problems. People are forced to live in a places that are not natural and full of poisons. Far more than are found in a natural environment.

If every family in the world had their own little piece of land, and they grew food, and traded foods, there would be no famine. For most people, health and happiness would the way their life is, and sadness would only be sometimes and temporary. Some might never be sad or unhealthy. The air everywhere would be clean, the water everywhere would be clean. No one would be homeless.

But now the world is very dirty, and getting dirtier every second that we use chemicals. And people are getting sicker. Even the wealthy will feel the pain eventually, after they have killed almost every living thing on the earth, and the poor people cannot make rich people things anymore, because they are starving, homeless and suffering from acute chemical poisoning causing many diseases and neurological disorders which prevent them from functioning.

The people must change what is happening. There is little profit in change, so corporations won't. Corporations are a cancer, and cancer requires extreme change for the organism to survive. We are the organism. Earth is the organism. This is a science nightmare (as apposed to science fiction). Corporations have 53% of the largest 100 economies on Earth. They have bought the governments and make the rules. But, we outnumber them... a lot. They need us to survive. Change the world by changing how you live. Stop buying stuff you don't really need. Turn your TV's and other media devices off and talk to each other. Go see the forest, the last 4% left in America, part of the last 20% left on Earth. We are down to 20% worldwide. If I am wrong, oh well. Maybe it is 30%. Does that really change anything? Go see the ocean and think about what is happening there. Go see the forest and think about what is happening there. And if you don't know, talk to people who do know. Talk to the people who don't and teach them.

We are in crisis. We must change. Previous generations borrowed our planet and did tremendous damage to it, taught younger generations to carry on the damage, and now our planet will be unviable to support the lives of the children not yet born. And many will be born with horrible injuries to their DNA, nervous systems and bodies, making them miserable for a short painful life.

Think. Change. Think. Change. Think. Change.

What would the air smell like if 60% of all the land on Earth had trees growing on it, every variety that still exists? What would the air smell like if every person on Earth planted flowers year round? What if every hectare of land had a pond? Would the deserts shrink over time? Would the water in the rivers, lakes, seas and oceans become clean? would the poisons in the soil diminish?

Please wake up, and smell the poison. The Earth, our home, is on fire. Our industries are destroying our homes and lives. Our ignorance and complacency are supplying the fuel to make it go.

Families around the world are dying so that we can have our phones, cars, computers, cloths, houses, paved streets, electricity, running water, internet, et al. The least we can do is use all this stuff to change the world into something that is equitable for every person on Earth. We, not me, or you, or him, or her. WE have the power. Forget the politicians. Those guys can't fix a toilet, let alone do anything that will fix our problems. They have been bought, either directly or by proxy. The winner of any election has to work with others who have been bought. There are exceptions. Note: EXCEPTIONS. Not the rule, the exceptions. Well meaning politicians are outnumbered by the greedy and dishonest. With our help, those exceptions could do something wonderful.

There are so many organizations and websites generally having the same idea. But none are likely to succeed at the ultimate goal of saving our planet and healing all our societies. They and We must combine to make the largest organization of people the world has ever seen to stop this madness.
